It is the right of all property owners within the South Park Business Improvement District (SPBID) to nominate either themselves or a designee to the SPBID Board of Directors. Property owners must be current with assessment payments. Only property owners or their designee can nominate.
Board Members may be property owners, business or residential tenants, local stakeholders, or community at-large representatives.
The Board term is two years. There is no limit on the number of terms.
The current Board of Directors considers individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to the South Park BID and/or neighborhood, and how the candidate’s skillsets and background complement the Board. Past participation with SPBID, knowledge of local issues, and professional expertise will also be considered.
Please keep in mind that all elected members of the SPSG Board of Directors are expected to:
Commit to attending six Board meetings per year. Each meeting is two hours long.
Actively participate on at least one of South Park’s two sub-committees, all of which meet every other month for 1.5 hours:
District Identity & Marketing Committee: Marketing and branding of South Park, including brand development, media, special events, marketing and promotions, etc.
Infrastructure & Planning Committee: Long- and short-term infrastructure projects, including but not limited to transportation, open space/park space, lighting, street furniture, landscaping and tree canopy, aesthetic and improvements made by new construction, etc. The BID's involvement ranges from project lead to partner.
Represent South Park at key meetings with stakeholders and City leaders.
The nomination period has closed.
All nominees have received an electronic application form which must be completed by October 4, 2019.
The current Board then votes on the slate at the October 23, 2019 Board Election Meeting.
